Don’t Act Like Prey! Be Assertive! (6)

Rabbits are cute and cuddly.  Rabbits are also prey.  They are eaten.  They spend their lives in hiding, venturing out only for food.  They have to be on constant alert for potential attack.  Their first defense is to freeze and pretend not to exist.  When an attack comes, they run, hide, and hope for escape until the next attack.

Rabbits do not have a choice.  They are what nature made them.

As humans, we have choices!  We are made to grow, develop, and change as necessary to survive and succeed.

If you do not respect your rights as a person, how can you respect yourself as a person?

Generally:
  • ·         People are not going to respect you any more than you respect yourself.
  • ·         People are not going to treat you any better than you treat yourself.
  • ·         People are not going to stand up for you if you do not stand up for yourself.
  • ·         You must respect yourself first, before others will respect you.
Do you want to live your life passively, like a rabbit?  Do you want to live in fear, to hide and run away from life?

Remember, the choice is yours!
